Personalized 1:1 Nutrition Therapy Services

BethR_3-Services

When working with me, you'll be empowered to ditch dieting, heal your relationship with food and feel good in the skin you are in. My clients find success getting off of the diet cycle, learning to eat intuitively, losing their food confusion, and finding freedom through managing their GI symptoms and triggers.

What you get:

1:1 Nutritional Services by Video or Phone

Your healing journey begins with an initial 1-hour appointment where we review your health, your medical and diet history, and your needs, then choose the best dietary intervention for your situation.

We then continue to follow up with 30-minute visits for as long as you need to provide symptom relief, overcome obstacles, learn new approaches and behaviors and move you toward food and body freedom.

You will have a lot to learn, do and practice between sessions! Depending on your needs, you may be identifying food triggers, learning to navigate a specialized nutritional therapy, or re-learning how to hear and embrace your inner cues.

What it is like:

Focused, personalized & empowering

Because your issues are unique to you, the nutrition advice and plans I share will be specific to you as well!

You can expect me to listen compassionately and to “get it” because I treat what I know intimately through my own and my clients’ experiences. You’ll get all the help you need to address your GI issues or break away from diet culture for good through a unique intuitive eating approach that values your health and wellbeing at any size.

One thing you won’t get? Rigid rules and food policing. My job is to support you, guide you, and give you the info you need to make the best choices for you and your body.

Eating Attitude Pillars for Success

It all starts with these four healthy attitudes.

Your body is on your side.
Work with it!

We all have a “set point” — that place where our natural weight falls and where our bodies experience homeostasis, or balance. This is where our weight is when we don’t restrict our intake in an attempt to lose weight, or mindlessly overeat to compensate for that restriction when we “fall off the wagon.” We are all born with internal wisdom that informs us of when we are hungry and when we are satisfied. If you’ve lost touch with that wisdom, you can reconnect with it by moving away from external food rules and moving toward eating intuitively. I can show you how.

Gut health begins with understanding your triggers.

Many things can trigger GI symptoms like bloating, gas, and a change in bowel habits — including food. Learning which foods trigger your symptoms can help you to feel better in your body. The Low-FODMAP diet is an evidenced-based dietary intervention that is effective in 50-86% of people who have implemented the phases. Research shows that people who work with a Registered Dietitian while on the diet have much better results than those who go it alone. This is my expertise and I share my knowledge with my clients via 1:1 counseling sessions so that you can eat and live confidently.

Self-care breaks you out of weight-cycling

Often what keeps us on the vicious diet cycle is body dissatisfaction. Fear of weight gain and shame about our bellies, cellulite, and thighs keeps us coming back for more in the hope that if we change our bodies, we will be happy in them. But many of my clients can look back to when they were at their thinnest and note that happiness was not found there; much of their energy was spent on food, portions, and the number on the scale. Self-care breaks this cycle. When we can learn to respect our bodies enough to care for them — from the boring self-care of going to the doctor to the fun self-care of connecting with friends — our relationship with our body can improve. This is where the Intuitive Eating principles of Joyful Movement and Gentle Nutrition come in.

Body Autonomy is about giving you information so that you can make choices

My role as your Registered Dietitian is not to be your food police. Instead, together, we will explore what foods help you to feel energized in your body and what foods may increase GI symptoms or general malaise through the dietary intervention that best suits your diagnosis. From there, it is up to you to decide how you want to feel in your body, and I will help you to do that through evidenced-based nutrition therapies.

Client Testimonials

I was getting sick and vomiting every two weeks, not knowing what would trigger it.  I was in a state of desperation and my gastroenterologist referred me to Beth. I love the non-medicated approach and the science behind why certain foods cause the issues I have.  Beth made me feel there was a light at the end of the tunnel. Her knowledge and expertise is extremely helpful for my condition. Physically, I rarely get sick anymore and if I do, I can figure out what triggered it.  My health and energy are much better since working with Beth. Emotionally and mentally, I do not feel that my life is a guessing game and I do not feel hopeless any longer.

Lisa C

Client with Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)

I worked with Beth over a 7-week period. We focused on goals of incorporating fruits into my daily intake and lowering my metabolic health indicators (ie blood pressure, cholesterol, A1C, etc) without throwing me into an unhealthy state mentally.  I just reviewed my 6th-month numbers with my Naturopathic Physician and we are both thrilled! A1C- Down! LDL- Down! Everything we were looking at- Down! I’m super excited to have accomplished this without shaming or going extreme with behaviors, as would have previously been my habit.

Timalee N

I didn’t know how to make sense of what I should or shouldn’t eat. I was stuck in a constant pain cycle with my IBS and frustrated with all the options of how to heal.  I appreciated Beth’s Health at Every Size® approach. Instead of dieting, I learned about paying attention to what my body needed. It’s easy to work with Beth. I needed someone online and accessible and she was both. My symptoms are so much better and my anxiety is better as well. Now what I eat is easy to navigate when at home or out to eat.

Kelly H

Client with Irritable Bowel Syndrome

I loved how Beth put a positive spin on everything: not being down on ourselves, eating slowly and mindfully, savoring good food, and nourishing our bodies. Her passion for what she does makes her radiant, and I think we all felt very nurtured by Beth. Thanks again for a wonderful program!

Debby H

Client with Irritable Bowel Syndrome

I went to another RD and I was placed on a strict plan.  I had a hard time fitting in all the food, especially the “snacks”.  There were also times when eating out or at family events when sticking to the plan was not possible and I felt guilty. I liked how Beth’s approach was practical and matched my lifestyle.  I loved cookies and Beth assured me that I could eat them – that all foods can fit.  It was good to know that I could eat without feeling guilty. She also suggested some simple ideas to make my diet more varied, and now I feel wiser as to how I can continue to eat well wherever I am.  After working with Beth, I find that I eat because I am hungry not because it is time to eat.  I feel more in charge of what I eat now, and I don’t restrict my food anymore.
